We were able to purchase Christmas gifts for a single mother and her 6 year-old son for the holidays. The family lost their 8 year old son and brother earlier in the year to cancer. Christmas is the pinnacle holiday of the year. More than any other celebration, it is the day for family and friends, kindness and generosity. It is the day for love. Whether we celebrate Christmas or a different significant holiday at another time of the year, we feel the losses that are the counterpoint to our love. There is missing, yes, but there is also--still and always--the love. We remember all our loves and we are grateful. Happy 2024!
